Our Precision Metal Forging Services
With the most cutting-edge forging methods, NOBLE could assist our clients with any type of forging component. The three primary forging techniques used by NOBLE are as follows.
The seamless rolled ring forging process begins by cutting a desired material’s starting stock to size before rounding it on the open die presses. The rounded piece is then upset and then pierced to make a preform. The preform is a donut-shaped forging ready to be placed on a ring rolling mill.

- Superior Structural Integrity
- Controlled Directional Grain Flow
Open die forging is done between flat dies without a pre-cut profile. This method relies heavily on artifact mobility. Large pieces totaling more than 200,000 pounds. This method can be used to hammer or press an 80-foot length.
- Greater Strength
- 100% Part Inspection
- Continuous Grain Flow
- Better Fatigue Resistance
It can be used for all kinds of forging and entails gradually adding constant pressure or force. Die forging can be used to regulate the internal strain by regulating the compression rate, and pressure forging can effectively deform the entire workpiece.

Materials for Custom Metal Forging Parts
NOBLE is a global OEM supplier capable of manufacturing custom-machined forgings to meet your specifications in a wide range of metal materials. We make custom-forged parts based on your project’s exact specifications.
Forged Stainless Steel
Stainless steel has high heat resistance, excellent corrosion resistance, or a protective oxide layer, which provides many advantageous qualities.
Forged Carbon Steel
Forged Carbon Steel has increased impact strength, product efficiency, or tight grain structure.
Alloy Steel Forgings
Forged alloy steel is a steel that has had small amounts of one or more alloying elements, other than carbon, added to its overall content. These added elements create specific properties for forgings that are not found in standard carbon steel forgings.
Surface Finishes for Metal Forging
NOBLE can help improve the surface qualities of your products by offering a diverse range of surface finishes. Surface finishes on your customized parts aim to improve their appearance, surface hardness, and roughness, chemical and corrosion resistance, and so on. Here are some of your best options.
Anodizing
Anodizing improves corrosion resistance, enhancing wear resistance and hardness, and protecting the metal surface. Widely used in mechanical parts, aircraft, and automobile parts, precision instruments, etc.
Materials: Aluminum
Color: Clear, black, grey, red, blue, gold.
Texture: Smooth, matte finish
Powder Coating
Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint which is delivered via an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat or with ultraviolet light.
Materials: Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Steel
Color: Black, any RAL code or Pantone number
Texture: Gloss or semi-gloss
Electroplating
Electroplating can be functional, decorative or corrosion-related. Many industries use the process, including the automotive sector, in which chrome-plating of steel automobile parts is common.
Materials: Aluminum, steel, Stainless Steel
Color: N/A
Texture: Smooth, Glossy finish
Polishing
Polishing is the process of creating a smooth and shiny surface, either through physical rubbing of the part or by chemical interference. The process produces a surface with significant specular reflection, but in some materials is able to reduce diffuse reflection.
Materials: Aluminum, Brass, Stainless Steel, Steel
Color: N/A
Texture: Glossy
Brushing
Brushing is a surface treatment process in which abrasive belts are used to draw traces on the surface of a material, usually for aesthetic purposes.
Materials: ABS, Aluminum, Brass, Stainless Steel, Steel
Color: N/A
Texture: Satin

Metal Forging FAQs
Metal forging is the process in which metals are formed and shaped using compressive forces. The forces are delivered using hammering, pressing, or rolling.
Four types of forging manufacturing processes are commonly used to shape metal parts. These metal forging processes include impression die forging (closed die), open die forging, cold forging, and seamless rolled ring forging.
Heating. Pre-forged metal starts with metal blocks called “ingots,” which come in a variety of shapes and sizes depending on the part or component to be produced.

Finishing
Both forging and forming are designed to manipulate the size and/or shape of metal workpieces. The difference between them is that forging involves the use of pressurized blows to deform metal workpieces while forming involves the use of mechanical deformation.
Stainless steel has exceptional corrosion resistance, heat resistance, strength, and durability. All of these properties get further enhanced when the metal undergoes a forging process.
